「保誠香港網球公開賽2023」 - 10月11日每日精華 Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2023 - 11 October Highlights
（2023年10月11日，香港）「保誠香港網球公開賽2023」是日進行第一輪及第二輪單打正賽，以及首輪雙打正賽。
是日網球主場的首場賽事於下午3時正開賽，由莎絲洛域治（Aliaksandra Sasnovich）碰上二號種子球手夏達馬雅（Beatriz Haddad Maia）。比賽相當激烈，雖然莎絲洛域治成功挽救了兩個盤點，但夏達馬雅以一記反手制勝，以7-3的比分贏得決勝局，拿下首盤賽事。第二盤，莎絲洛域治成功挽救三個破發分，以6-3的比分扳回一城，使得比賽進入第三盤。夏達馬雅離敗北僅有兩分之差，但她力挽狂瀾，經過三個半小時的馬拉松式對賽，最終以7-6(3)，3-6，7- 6(3)的比分擊敗莎絲洛域治，成功晉級！夏達馬雅賽後表示：「我現在感覺很好。莎絲洛域治是位實力相當的對手，她在第二盤的進攻強而有力，這場比賽勝之不易。我很高興能全力以赴，取得最後勝利。」
緊接著網球主場的首場賽事，本地球迷心水女網球手之一的王康怡對陣資格賽晉級球手蘭絲莉。蘭絲莉擊敗遺憾受傷的本地外卡選手王康怡，接下來將與三號種子球手、來自比利時的瑪天絲爭奪八強席位。
第三場單打正賽由澳籍球手韓天遇碰上五號種子球手比蓮高娃（Anna Blinkova），狀態大勇的比蓮高娃以6-1，6-3的比分晉級下輪賽事。
1號球場方面，三號種子球手瑪天絲（Elise Mertens）連贏前五局，並把握了所有破發分，以6-1，6-4的比分擊敗「保誠香港網球公開賽2017」亞軍戴莉雅莎維爾（Daria Saville）。
是日焦點活動為晚上舉行的「星級名人賽」，中國香港網球總會推廣大使陳奕迅（Eason）夥拍即將出戰亞洲殘疾人運動會的本地輪椅網球手莫家安，對陣前香港香港首席女網球手張玲及本地輪椅網球手劉冠東，於網球主場上演精彩的表演賽。最終，張玲和阿東以10-9的比分獲勝！
(11 October 2023, HONG KONG) The first round of the singles main draw wrapped up today as well as the commencement of the doubles first round and singles second round at the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open (“PHKTO”) 2023.
Today’s play kicked-off on Centre Court with Aliaksandra Sasnovich up against No.2 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia at 3:00pm. Although the crafty Sasnovich managed to save two set points, Haddad Maia ripped ar backhand crosscourt winner to take the opening set in a tiebreak 7-3. Sasnovich then saved three break points to hold for 6-3 to even the match at one set all. In the end, Haddad Maia was just two points away from defeat but battled through to win the three-and-a-half-hour marathon against Sasnovich 7-6(3) 3-6 7-6(3). Haddad Maia: "I feel great. She's a good player, it was a tough match. She was very aggressive in the second set. I'm happy I was able to fight for everything to get the win today.”
Following the first match on Centre Court, local fan favourite Cody Wong took on qualifier Sofya Lansere. Sofya Lansere defeated the injured Wong and will next face No. 3 seed Elise Mertens of Belgium for a place in the quarterfinals.
The third singles match was between Priscilla Hon and No.5 seed player Anna Blinkova. Blinkova was in great form, winning 6-1, 6-3.
On Court 1, No.3 seed player Elise Mertens won the first five games in a row and converted all four of her break point chances to beat 2017 PHKTO runner-up Daria Saville 6-1 6-4.
The highlight of the day was the PHKTO 2023 Exhibition Match held in the evening. Hong Kong, China Tennis Association Ambassador - Eason Chan entertained fans in the match, joined by former Hong Kong No.1 player Zhang Ling and local wheelchair players Mok Ka On and Lau Koon Tung. Zhang Ling & Lau Koon Tung prevailed 10-9 in the end in the match-tiebreak format. Mok Ka On will represent Hong Kong at the upcoming 2022 Para Asian Games.
