Qualifying - First Round Highlights
（2023年10月7日，香港）「保誠香港網球公開賽2023」是日假維多利亞公園網球主場正式起動，綻放女子網球力量！
香港球手謝善瑜、黎清嵐及伍曼瑩均獲得今屆賽事的單打資格賽外卡，三位球手均奮力揮拍，雖未能晉級明日最後一輪資格賽，但仍獲得寶貴的實戰經驗。
現時香港青少年排名第一位的謝善瑜是日挑戰資格賽8號種子球手、現時世界排名第384位的露迪高娃（Daria Lodikova）。儘管兩位球手排名相差懸殊，但謝善瑜仍無懼強敵，挽救了6個破發分，並擊出兩個破發分，於WTA巡迴賽首秀表現出色。最後露迪高娃以6-1，6-2直落兩盤，成功晉級。
另一方面，在6-0，3-0落後的情況下，本地球手黎清嵐兩次打破積古普域（Dalila Jakupovic）的發球局，並在第二局九次打至平分後讓出發球局，將比數追至3-3平。現時世界排名第231位的積古普域鞏固隨後領先優勢，再次打破這位本土小將的發球局，以6-0，6-3取得勝利。
主球場賽事方面，現時世界排名第272位的蘭絲莉（Sofya Lansere）成功把握到4個破發分，最終以6-1，6-2的比分擊敗本地球手伍曼瑩，晉級最後一輪資格賽。
明日單打資格賽將於上午10時起進行。所有賽事皆在1號及2號球場上演。

(7 October 2023, HONG KONG) Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2023 kicked-off today at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium.
Hong Kong players Christy Che, Vienna Lai and Maggie Ng were given qualifying wildcards to compete in this year's tournament. Despite the seemingly lopsided defeats, it was an indispensable learning experience for the local young players.
Qualifying No. 8 seed Daria Lodikova beat current Hong Kong junior No. 1, Christy Che, in straight sets 6-1 6-2 to move on. Despite the ranking discrepancy, the local teenager did well to save 6 of 10 break points, and created two of her own, in what was her WTA Tour debut match today.
Down 6-0 3-0, Vienna Lai broke Dalila Jakupovic twice to claw her way back to 3-3 in the second when she yielded her serve after an intense game that went to deuce nine times. The WTA No. 231 then consolidated and broke the local teenager again to close out a 6-0 6-3 victory.
World No. 272 Sofya Lansere converted 4 of 7 break points to beat local wildcard entry Maggie Ng 6-1 6-2 to progress to the final round of qualifying.
The final round of qualifying will start not before 10 tomorrow. All matches will be held on Court 1 and Court 2.
