中國香港欖球總會行政總裁麥偉彬 (Robbie McRobbie) 計劃2024年中卸任 HONG KONG CHINA RUGBY CEO ROBBIE MCROBBIE TO STEP DOWN

【香港：2023年11月28日】中國香港欖球總會（欖總）董事局確認收到欖總行政總裁麥偉彬提交的辭呈。麥偉彬計劃於2024年中卸任。

中國香港欖球總會主席蒲敬思表示，麥偉彬於現在公佈決定，為董事會提供充足的時間去物色合適的繼任人，從而保障這一關鍵職位的順利交接。

蒲敬思表示董事會將啓動全球招聘，物色合適繼任者。

蒲敬思説道，「麥偉彬為香港欖球運動的發展奉獻了二十年的職業生涯。自2017年上任以來，他一直是一位能力出衆、備受尊重的領袖。」

「對於麥偉彬卸任的決定，我們深感不捨。然而，我們尊重他的想法和決定，並祝願他在未來的道路上一切順利。」

「麥偉彬一直熱心倡導基層欖球發展，並積極投身於社區基金會的發展（現更名為橄欖成長基金），在香港是體育為善領域的領先者。」

「我瞭解到麥偉彬計劃長期留在香港，並繼續為香港欖球界作出貢獻。多年來，他已經成爲香港欖球界不可或缺的重要一員。」

蒲敬思表示，麥偉彬和中國香港欖球總會將繼續密切關注和組織一系列正在開展的項目，包括確保超級聯賽，及二十多年來他一直密切參與和培育的2024國泰/滙豐香港國際七人欖球賽的成功舉辦。

2003年，麥偉彬加入總會擔任社區欖球經理一職。過去二十年間，他的工作足跡遍佈總會的大部分崗位，包括在2017年上任行政總裁職位前，負責管理七人欖球項目。

關於這一決定，麥偉彬説道「在一個機構任職二十載後，我認爲是時候在香港探索其他事業機會了。」

麥偉彬補充道：「我思索許久，認爲現在是合適的時間點將我的職責移交給繼任者。這將為我們移師啟德體育園和在香港進一步發展壯大欖球這項運動，以及組織舉世聞名的七人欖球賽帶來新的想法和方法，」

麥偉彬續指：「能夠從事我熱愛的體育運動工作，和充滿熱誠、並致力投身體育事業的同事一起工作，我感到非常榮幸。」

「近年來由於新冠疫情，我們經歷了一些艱難時刻。我可以坦率地說，我不敢奢求能夠獲得比過去二十年更充實和愉快的職業生涯了。我對能夠結合對欖球的熱愛和事業，心懷感恩，並從中獲取很多樂趣，」麥偉彬道。

The Board of Directors of Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) has received notification from its Chief Executive, Robbie McRobbie, that he intends to step down from his role in mid-2024.

HKCR Chairman Chris Brooke said that this early indication from Robbie of his decision would provide the Board with sufficient time both to identify a suitable successor as well as to manage a smooth handover in relation to this pivotal role.

Mr Brooke said that the Board of Directors would launch a global recruitment exercise to fill the position.

“Robbie has dedicated 20 years of his career to the development of rugby in Hong Kong and has been a highly competent and well-respected CEO since taking up his current role in 2017,” said Mr Brooke.

“We are of course disappointed that Robbie has decided to step down, but we respect his decision and wish him all the very best in the future.

“Robbie has always been a passionate advocate for grassroots development and was instrumental in the setting up of our Community Foundation, now Rugby for Good, which has been a leader in the sport-for-good sector in Hong Kong.

“I know that Robbie plans to stay in Hong Kong for the long term, and I am certain he will continue to contribute to the rugby community of which he has been such an integral and important part for so many years.”

Mr Brooke said that Robbie and the HKCR team remained fully focused upon a range of ongoing initiatives, including delivery of both a successful domestic season as well as the 2024 Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, an event that Robbie has been closely involved with, and nurtured, for over 20 years.

Robbie joined the then HKRFU as Community Rugby Manager in 2003. Over the past two decades he has worked across most areas of the organisation, including a period overseeing the Sevens, before being appointed CEO in 2017.

In relation to his decision, Robbie said that “after 20 years in one organisation it was time to explore other opportunities in Hong Kong.”

“I have thought about this for some time and believe that it is time to hand over the reins to a new CEO who may bring in new ideas and approaches for the move to Kai Tak Sports Park and the development of rugby in Hong Kong, including our famous Hong Kong Sevens,” said Robbie.

“It has been an honour and privilege to have been able to work in a sport I love and with people who are committed and passionate about sport and its potential as a driving force for good in society.

“While we have endured some tough times in recent years because of COVID, I can honestly say that I could not have asked for a more fulfilling and enjoyable career over the past 20 years. I will forever be thankful that I have been able to combine my love of rugby with earning a living while also having a lot of fun along the way.”
